Hayley Tarrant, a Senior Carer from Ruislip, has won a Heart of Gold Award at a ceremony at Water Mill House Care Home in Hemel Hempstead today, Tuesday September 15th.

The Awards seek to recognise employees for their dedication and commitment in providing high quality care and compassion to all the home’s residents.

Anna Marrah, manager of Water Mill House said: “Those who have been nominated do not just do their jobs, they consistently demonstrate compassion and dedication to make our residents lives better each and every day.

“Hayley especially is an absolute gem – a very special carer who brightens up each day she is on duty. Nothing is too much trouble for her. She is caring and sensitive to people’s needs, with a warm and friendly manner. Definitely a worthy Heart of Gold winner.”

Hayley was presented with an etched glass plaque to commemorate her success and a Tiffany necklace by Alnur Dhanani, Chairman of Carebase, the company that owns Water Mill House. Nominations for the award came from residents and their relatives, co-workers, social workers and local health professionals.

Hayley said: “I truly feel if it wasn’t for our team at Water Mill House I wouldn’t be here.  I consider them a second family to me.  They give me so much support to be the best I can be and I am so thankful to be recognised especially by the residents who make this a job I love”.

Altogether there were 14 nominees for the award at Water Mill House and all nominees received a Heart of Gold lapel pin.
